Naming Your Kids after Video Games?

Something I noticed when I was thinking of names for my sons, was how some names that were once weird and uncommon are now normal. Another thing I noticed is children being named after movie stars, fictional characters, even video games characters and systems! There are even names derived from characters when you download games to play.

I knew a few kids named “Mario” named after of course one of the famous Super Mario Brothers. Other names are straight from video games are: Luigi, Sonic, Max (from Max Payne), Peach and more! I would even bet that there are kids named Sega and Wii! I guess it is cute and definitely unique, at least for now! I know a lot of moms who want their children to have unique names and if they or their husbands are big video game players, it only seems natural to name their child after their favorite character! The only problem though is you don’t want it to be too off the wall, or the kid will be embarrassed when they grow up, you may regret it, and it will be very hard to find items with the particular name on it! I just wanted to throw this out there while I was thinking about it!
