Using a Patio Heater to Stay Warm

One backyard accessory I have also wanted is a patio heater for my deck. Now I live in a suburb of Chicago and since our seasons are unpredictable, I have always wanted one of the electric heaters so I can enjoy my deck just a little bit longer. I mean it is not fun sitting outside with layers of clothing and a jacket on, with chattering teeth! My boys also love being outside and since I don’t let them out in the cold, this would benefit them too!

Now honestly I never looked too much into outdoor heaters, other than to experience one at a friend’s house and decide I had to have one. There are of course a huge selection of designs and styles to choose from! Whether I wanted to directly hook one on our patio umbrella, put it on the table, or have a freestyle one, I figure something is better than nothing. I do have to make sure it is safe to be around my kids and around large groups of people. I think having the best patio heater would really help too with outdoor parties, so you can run them late into the night when the air gets even colder out here! Now yes, of course, everyone can sit around a fire, but if you have a large backyard area or want something maybe a little safer than an open fire than a patio heater is the way to go.

If you are not really interested in electric heaters, you can also check out a gas heater. I am not really sure what the difference is, other than maybe personal preference. Either way, they are great investments to enjoy your backyard when the weather turns cold. I mean why spend money to create a fabulous backyard if it is too cold most of the time to enjoy it!
