AJWright – Awesome Shopping Deals!

So TJ Maxx and Marshalls are two of my favorite bargain-hunting stores, and then I heard about AJWright and was curious.  AJWright is owned by the same company as TJ Maxx and Marshalls and is a very similar based store.  It is smaller in size than them and there are only now about 150 of them, but they are awesome stores for families looking for affordable fashion, footwear, accessories, housewares, giftware, toys and more.  All the items are of course a bargain as they are 70 percent off discount and chain store prices.  The AJWright price as well as the suggested retail price is listed on the item tag.

I got the chance to check out a brand new AJWright store before it opened in the Hillside, IL, and it was an awesome store.  Now if you have heard of AJWright before you might have a negative image in your head of a small store that had low ceilings, bad lighting, and was not organized in any way.  Well AJWright is not only opening new stores but they are also re-designing their old stores to make them more “shopable!”  The newly designed AJWright stores have high ceilings, bright lighting, colorful signs, and most items are organized by color.  They also have a whole wall dedicated to showing off outfits so you can get outfit-ideas by seeing them actually put together.  The store has more of a functional store layout too where you can walk the center aisle all the way around the store and easily fit a shopping cart in the in-between aisles, which is especially important if you are shopping with kids!

So I got the chance to shop and I was literally shocked at the prices.  I found awesome shirts (too bad I couldn’t find my size) for $1.99, a jogging suit with pants and jacket for $12.99, popular kid DVDs (Dora, Diego..) for $5.00, and more!  I loved how the clothes were all organized by sizes and depending on what they were (shirts, pants..).  AJWright also has a huge Plus Size department and tons of Hospital Scrubs (many of the stores are placed by hospitals).  So first I tackled the clothes and found two shirts and a pair of pants all for less than $20 total!

Next I moved onto housewares, as you know I recently moved into a new house and am slowly decorating.  There was awesome pieces of artwork, candles, knick-knack type items, picture frames, a kitchen area (Rachel Ray cookware, Paula Dean), bathroom products, and tons of bedding all organized by sizes!

I then of course had to check out the toy area and toddler clothing.  All the clothes were so cheap and I mean price-wise!  There were outfits for under $10!  Great for baby showers or birthdays!  The toy area was not generic toys as you would expect at a bargain store, but they were name brand – Fisher Price to name one brand – and the toys were all featuring current kid characters.  I got my sons a giant Spongebob Bounce Ball that they absolutely love!  I looked at some of the items though in disgust when I think of the full price I had paid at Toys R Us!

After toys there were the men’s department, which featured some more awesome deals.  Packs of Hanes t-shirts, socks, and underwear for low low prices and there were even dress shirts with matching ties for around $10.  That is really a great idea for men who don’t know how to clothes shop!  There was also a huge sports area with actual sports licensed clothing for almost half the retail price!  The front of the store was electronics (video games, DVD players, mp3 players and more) and food.  I was able to get a 3 pack of Xbox games and game cleaner all packaged together for the low price of $9.99!  I did find out too that the food they sell which is mainly snacks and candy is not expired food but rather food that stores like Macy’s and Target buy that is overstock.  So I went ahead and bought a pack of snacks for my kids.

Overall, I think AJWright is an awesome store and definitely one I will be adding to my shopping list.  The deals were fantastic and I love the variety of items, as I was able to get something for myself, husband, sons, mother-in-law, brother, kitchen, and closet for the low price of $80!

You can also compete to be the next AJWright model!  Many of the models used are real AJWright shoppers and the store features an AJWright Model Search competition each year!

Check out the AJWright website to find a store near you and sign up for their newsletter to find out about in-store features, Grand Openings, Model Searches and More!

Mama’s Money Savers Disclosure:  I was given this opportunity to visit the store before it opened and given a gift card to shop with along with a few other great bloggers!  This post is 100% my opinion and I was not compensated in any other way.
