Black Diamond Granite Cleaner Review

Last December I came across a company called Black Diamond while I was researching wood cleaners for my wood floors.  I have tried so many different products and I was looking to try something new.  Well the Black Diamond Wood Floor Cleaning System proved to handle my son’s daily abuse to my floors!  (Read my review here!)

Black Diamond sells so many more products than just wood floor cleaners, they sell products to help clean and seal natural stone surfaces, maintain and restore wood and laminate floors, remove pesky spots and traffic areas on your carpet, and even eliminate unwanted pet and human odors.  Their products are categorized as:  Home Care, Stone Care, Tile & Grout, Wood & Laminate Floors, and Accessories.

MY THOUGHTS:

I would actually like to try out all their products eventually since I was completely satisfied with their Wood Cleaner kit, but for now I was more than thrilled to try out their Granite Cleaner and Granite Plus Wipes.

Now I didn’t know that cleaning my granite counter tops with an all-purpose cleaner could harm it, but they can.  Most of those types of cleaners have ammonia which after awhile will remove the sealer protecting your granite, but also allow the stone to get stained.  Luckily my kitchen is not that old (put in about a year before we moved in) and so far the counters look good still.  I am glad that moving forward I now have the right products to clean and protect my counters!

The Black Diamond Stonework’s Granite Cleaner is perfect for maintaining granite, marble and tile counter tops.    It is a 100% biodegradable cleaner safe for daily use to provide streak-free counter tops.  Now with two boys and us being home a lot, you can imagine how messy my kitchen gets.  There is always something sticky, gooey, or unknown left on my counters and I love that I can just spray the Granite Cleaner to remove all the dirt and grime.  There is no soap scum or streaks left behind.  I like the comfort too of knowing that the pH neutral formula is gentle enough so it will not remove my granite sealer.  I mean what is the point of having nice, expensive counter tops if I am not going to take care of them!  I also want to make sure they last a long time so the few dollars for the right cleaner works for me.

I also received a package of Granite Plus! Wipes which is not just a granite cleaner, but is enhanced with the Black Diamond NEX-GEN Granite Sealer.  So once a week or so I will use on of these wipes to really clean my counter tops to help my granite sealer.  I wouldn’t use these really for daily use since there are only 25 in a package and for how often I clean my counters I like the spray cleaners the best.

I have been using these products for a few days now and I can definitely notice a difference in how shiny and new my counters look and feel.  No scummy feeling, streaks, or water marks are left behind and with the wipes I like the extra assurance that I am enhancing my granite sealer.  I also like how in the long run, my counters will last longer and require less maintenance by taking care of them now the right way!
