ABOUT THE APP:
Who will rule is based on an Australian aboriginal fable and is a delightful and relevant story on animals and the ecosystem they inhabit. The iBook takes you through the initial stages of our earth and how the animals, birds and other mammals peacefully cohabit. As time progresses, there is a fight for space and survival. The ‘rat race ‘is beautifully captured using rich visuals in the app ‘Who will rule’. It also drives home the fact that everyone is a part of the universe and no one has a higher priority or lesser. This home truth can easily be expanded to the doubly wise – homo sapiens alias men.
Gorgeous hand drawn illustrations merge Indian and Aboriginal folk art, and animated characters bring this book to life. Children have the following options when reading the book:
“Read to Me” – Listen to the narrated story
“I Read” – Read the book at your own pace with plenty of stopovers to play with the creatures
This wonderful iBook draws its story and concept from Tulika Publishers, India, who have had an age old reputation of churning engaging tales for children.
MY THOUGHTS:
I absolutely love this app! It is an adorable storybook that you can choose to Read Yourself or Read to you. My 3 year old loves to listen to the story, but his favorite part is all the interactions he can do. You can click on practically everything on the screen to see it move or make a noise. My 3 year taps all over that screen and loves the reactions he gets! The illustrations of this App are also beautiful and so brightly colored it is hard not to smile at them. Just the colors and way the animals were drawn are amazing, not cartoon-like but more like illustrations. The story is also a decent length and great for reading (or listening to) anytime! I highly recommend this App if you are looking for a story book that your child can interact with!
