Build A Bear “Connecting in the CyBear Century” Event (Day 2 – Party Time!)

Okay so I didn’t finish off my Day 2 of the Build A Bear Branding Event I attended because I was saving the best for last.  The best being all of us moms actually attended a Build A Bear Workshop store in a mall and had a party!  We separated into two groups and each went to a nearby mall and got to experience a Build A Bear party!

So I didn’t know what to expect as I have never seen a party there before but I knew it would be fun, how could it not be with a bunch of moms as the partygoers!  We all were first welcomed to the store and had to march around the store and shout out phrases.  Yes we were treated like kids for the true experience!  We picked our animal, with only ten seconds to pick one.  Then we got in line and got it stuffed, then fluffed, then dressed.  Each step the party leader had us do certain things like pump up the heart to go inside the bear and talk to it!  We all laughed but it truly was an experience and I am sure kids love it even more!

So yes if you didn’t know you can have a party at Build A Bear, with a minimum of six kids and packages starting at $15.  Now of course you can always just bring in a bunch of kids or pop in there anytime to pick up a bear, but a party is definitely something different and unique.  You have a party leader who initiates games and leads the group, the leader is with your group each step of the way and is basically another adult to help you supervise.  Each guest will get a party favor (plush), you can print out invitations and thank you cards from buildabear.com, the guest of honor will receive a gift and photo, and also you get virtual party perks for Build A Bearville.  So for moms there is no cleanup, party favors, or invitations to buy. Food is not covered but many moms have said they just bring a cake to the mall and eat it in the food court with the kids.  The party on average takes about 45 minutes, of course depending on ages and amount of kids.  You set the price and if you want each kid to get clothes they can or they just get a naked plush to take home.

Overall, I have really grown to love Build A Bear.  It is truly an experience whether you are just shopping for yourself or a gift, or having a party there.  When I visited the store in the past I always received excellent customer service and this time was no different.  It was so much fun to be a kid again and as I read on twitter “I don’t want to be a Toys R Us kid, I want to be a Build A Bear kid!”
