Did You Know that the Blue Man Group Show is Constantly Changing?

I received tickets in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.

One major attraction in Chicago for families that I always recommend is Blue Man Group. I have seen the show numerous times both with kids and without and its always a great time. I didn’t realize though that the show is continually refreshed with new music, stories, custom instruments and state-of-the-art technology. So if you have seen the show years ago it is definitely going to be different than today’s show.

I took my kids (15, 14, and 11) a few weeks ago and it was a hit and perfect way to wrap up 2022. I love how the show changes to today’s world such as incorporating smartphones but still keeping in classic acts from older Blue Man Group shows.

What should you expect at a Blue Man Group Show?

In short: Fun! The show runs for 90 minutes and you will be mesmerized for the whole show. There is no intermission either, those blue guys and the band just keep on performing.

There is no crazy storyline to follow. The Blue Man Group guys don’t actually talk but rather perform basically skits. I have seen theater performances where you felt lost and didn’t know what was going on, this show is easy to follow along. Who says you need words to put on a great performance?

While the show is artsy, it really does appeal to everyone. My boys are all sports and would skip art any day but they loved Blue Man Group. It is hard to not smile with all the silliness and excitement.

Blue Man Group has been making guests for 25 years now in Chicago so you know they are definitely doing something right! By refreshing the show’s material, being interactive with the audience, playing music using state-of-the-art technology, the show is one that is perfect for date night or family night.

I honestly could go on and on about how amazing the show is but it really is a must-do here in Chicago (or check out if you are on vacation as they have shows all over.) I feel like it is something to see at least once or if you really love it (like my family) then see it every few years. I cannot imagine being disappointed seeing it, there is just so much going on that its hard to not get wrapped up in it.
