So just to really eliminate camping as an option right now for us as a mini-vacation, I decided to really look into camping. I realized that I can stay at a nice indoor waterpark resort for the weekend for about $200 a night and I even found some coupons for the hotel restaurants because we have season passes at the nearby amusement park and received a coupon book. We did this last year and it was a fun weekend and really as not that expensive since we took advantage of the free waterpark and hopped over to the amusement park for awhile. All we had to pay for is our meals.
Now as far as camping goes we would need camping equipment, which I can think of a few things off the top of my head. First, we would need to decide what campground we would stay at. Then since we don’t have a camper, I suppose we would need a tent, sleeping bags or airbed, and someway to cook. My husband hasn’t been camping since he was in Boy Scouts and even then it was his dad and scout leader who were getting everything together and flowing smoothly. I did go camping with the Girl Scouts but we stayed in cabins and it was more like a hotel than outdoor camping. Then the problem like I mentioned before is I hate to buy all this gear and then not use it again or realize we wanted something different. I hate to waste and I think camping is one of those things you either like or you don’t. If I could borrow everything we needed from someone it would definitely make the decision harder, but for now I am still leaning towards a resort. What can I say, I love hot showers with good water pressure!

Some campsites have showers. The one we just went to did and it had hot water, showers, and a pool. :)
