Summer Bonding Project with #GlueDots

Okay so I always dreamed of being the mom who does all sorts of fun arts and crafts projects with her kids.  Then I had two active boys and my mind went to mush.  I also think it is hard to craft with them now because they are only 2 and 3 years old and are also “go, go, going” around the house.  Well ever since my 3 year old started preschool a few months ago, he has started to enjoy craft projects and coloring.  He is so proud when he comes home with something and wants everything to go on the fridge!  So far I haven’t tackled a project yet other than coloring sheets, but when I received a giant package of Glue Dots from a TwitterMoms campaign, I knew it was a sign.  I realized that I crafting can be fun, no matter the age!  I also love how easy Glue Dots seem to make any project whether it be something I am working on around the house, scrapbooking, or crafting with the kids!

What Are Glue Dots®?

Glue Dots Adhesives are a safer, easier, mess-free alternative to typical tapes and glue guns.  Glue Dots provide the strength you need in an adhesive without the mess and dry time required of liquid glues.  Glue Dots bond instantly to a wide variety of surfaces including: Paper/photos, Metal, Wood, Plastic, Textiles/Fibers, Plastic, Foam, and more!  Find Glue Dots at a retailer near you or online today!

**Note: Glue Dots are Acid Free and Non-Toxic.

Check out the Glue Dots Facebook Page for more information!

Our Craft:

For our craft I grabbed a bowl of macaroni noodles, some markers, some cardboard, and of course glue dots.  I drew an “A” and “G” for each boy so they could decorate their letters.  They first colored and stamped the cardboard then I gave them each a Glue Dot and showed them how to roll it.  Now they definitely were not the greatest and my 2 year old kept missing the paper, but once the dots were on, they were excited.  I showed them how to stick the macaroni noodles to the cardboard and they thought it was so cool!

I can’t wait to try out Glue Dots around the house now.  I read that you can use them to stick stuff to doors for example and I have some letters for my one son that I would like to attach to his door (now I just have to find them!)  I also think they are perfect for scrapbooking and cardmaking.  I think there is a time for Glue and a time for Glue Dots and you have to use what works best.  I do recommend purchasing Glue Dots just to have around because they do make crafts and little tasks easy and quick (no mess or stickiness left behind!)

Mama’s Money Savers Disclosure:  I wrote this blog post while participating in the TwitterMoms and Glue Dots blogging contest to be eligible to receive a $30 gift card. For more information on how you can participate, click here.
