MY THOUGHTS:

When I came across Patch Products, I could not believe how many fun products they have and how many I have seen and played with not even realizing they were from Patch Products.  I would have to say my favorite of all time toy is Wooly Willy which is definitely a classic and one of the original toys from when I was little- this is one of those that toys that Patch Products acquired after the acquisition of Smethport Specialty Co. and Lauri Brand products.

One toy I got to check out with my sons (2 and 3 years old) is the TallStacker Mighty Monkey Pegboard Set and I can definitely say it is a hit!

TallStacker Mighty Monkey Pegs & Pegboard Set

It’s a new twist on a favorite toy – why stack with just pegs when you can add colorful monkey pegs to the mix? Kids will enjoy using their imagination to create their own Mighty Monkey formations and seeing how high they can stack the 2 5/8″ monkeys! Each monkey’s leg acts as a peg and can be used with all Lauri® Tall-Stacker™ pegboards and pegs.
Ages 2 & Up

The TallStacker Mighty Monkey Pegboards Set may seem like a pegboard and some peg monkeys, but it really is so much more.  Included inside is a one-page Activity Guide, which includes ways to use your Mighty Monkey Pegboard Set.  The ways are: Color Sorting (stack the five different colored monkeys on the board), Color Matching (match up the monkeys by color), Color Recognition (Have your child pick with colored peg doesn’t belong), Patterning (stack pegs to create a pattern), Counting (count the pegs as you place them on the board), Addition (add pegs and count with your child), Subtraction (take monkey pegs away and count), and Memory & Directions (call out directions to your child and have them complete tasks).

Now since I am not very creative, I love that The TallStacker Mighty Monkey Pegboard Set came with ideas how to use it and ways to play to keep the game fresh.  There are a total of 25 colored monkeys that are hard plastic and one Lauri Crepe Rubber pegboard that is like a hard foam bard.  Everything is washable which is nice and there is no reading required!  My boys went to town with this game and the only flaw is I wish the foam board was bigger or there was another one as there are plenty of monkeys to share but the foam board is a little small than I’d like (about the size of a mouse pad).  The monkeys snap together pretty easily and there are no small pieces to loose or have a child put in their mouth.  I can definitely see how this game is on the Top-Selling brands as there is so much to do with such a simple product and it is appropriate for ages 2 and up, which most games start at ages 3 and up.
