“The Vampire Diaries: The Complete First Season” DVD Release on 8/31

Okay so I am a vampire junkie.  Ever since I first read Twlight two years ago,  I have been hooked on anything with fangs.  The best part though is it is not hard to find these days, and I am already looking forward to the return of Vampire Diaries starting back up this fall.

If you are not familiar with Vampire Diaries, I will give you a re-cap and hopefully get you as excited as me about it!

Elena

Vampire Diaries is a CW show based off a book series (same name but the show is really different from the books.)  The show features two brothers Stefan and Damon Salvatore and the beautiful Elena.  Stefan is the sensitive, worrisome, younger brother who falls for Elena, at first due to her striking resemblance to his first love that turned him into a vampire a hundred years ago!

So now Stefan and Elena are together, yes she knows he is a vampire but can’t live without him, and in comes Damon who is Stefan’s older, rule breaking, dark brother.  He acts like he doesn’t care about anything or anyone, but you can tell he has a soft side, especially when it comes to Elena’s well being.  You see Damon was also in love with Katherine (the vampire who looks like Elena and turned both brothers into vampires and then left!)  So it is a love triangle, sort of.  Elena loves Stefan, but you can see her catching glimpses and thoughts about Damon.  There are of course a group of friends, one who is a witch and another is something we don’t know yet (or do we?)

Damon

I honestly like both brothers for their own character traits but as far as Elena is concerned, I like her with Stefan.  Don’t get me wrong, both brothers are hot, but I don’t want to see Damon get any softer and I think Elena needs someone more dependable and sensitive as Stefan.

Now I watched every episode last season but since I really like the show I wouldn’t mind watching it again, especially as a marathon with my tween sister.  We are dorks who call each other after every episode and talk about them!  Anyways, coming out next week on August 31^st (just in time to watch it before the new season starts up) is the “Vampire Diaries:  The Complete First Season” on DVD.  the best part about the DVD, even if you have seen every episode on TV, is the Bonus Features.  There are tons of features including:  Casting the Series, Gag Reel, Unaired Scenes, Commentary, Websisodes, and more!  The Bonus Features really go behind the show and help fill in gaps you may have about understanding it.  Also, did I mention this set is 5 discs and 22 episodes!  It is a total of 925 minutes of Vampire Diaries fun!
