What do I buy at a Sporting Goods Store?

So I was cleaning out my purse and I found a Dick’s Sporting Goods gift card that I completely forgot about. I actually can’t even remember where or when I got it, but I checked and it is worth $50!  So now I have to decide how I am going to spend it or if I am going to save it for another day.

If you are not familiar with Dick’s Sporting Goods, it is a store that carries everything sports related, from boxing to cheerleading to wrestling and camping gear. I had no idea they carried so much or that there were so many sports categories.  I only really know of the store because my little brother gets all his baseball equipment there.

I know my husband and I could definitely use a new pair of gym shoes, which they carry all the top brands at reasonable prices, but I feel like I should use this gift card for something that I wouldn’t normally buy at my everyday stores.  I can buy gym shoes at other stores I shop at, so I feel like I should this gift card for something more sports related.  I actually would love to buy a basketball hoop for our house, the one that has the pole that goes right into the ground.  My husband thinks the kids are too young, which they are, but I don’t want the gift card to go to waste or expire so I figure we could buy it now and the kids will grow into it.  My husband also joked that we should check out their camping tents since I am always saying how much I want to go camping (that was me being sarcastic by the way!)  Either way I am excited to visit the store because I have never been there and I am curious about all the different products I found on the website.

Any suggestions?
