A few weeks ago I posted my Avocado recipe, rather quickly, not really realizing that I was actually entering the contest.  Well low and behold, I was selected as one of the eight finalists!

My recipe is for Avocado Mango Salsa and it represents Chicago because we are diverse and a big mix of everything here, hence my salsa being colorful and mixed up!

There are eight recipes to choose from and I really hope you like and choose mine!  You an vote daily, but I know everyone has a life so even if you can only vote once for me, I would really appreciate it.  The voting takes a few seconds and you don’t have to put in any personal information other than your email address.  I hate to bug everyone and I pester for votes, but I have never had an opportunity like this before and who knows if I ever will again!

First prize is $5000 and a year’s supply of avocados.  I cannot even begin to tell you how much that could help us.  I have never won anything valued at more than $100 and I am really crossing my fingers on this one.  I am so happy (and still in shock) that I was even selected as one of the eight finalists.  All of us ladies have some great recipes and I wish we could all win, but I would really love first place!
