The Movement for Self-Esteem invites all women to join us in creating a world where beauty is a source of confidence, not anxiety.
Imagine a world
…where every girl grows up with the self-esteem she needs to reach her full potential.
…where every woman enjoys feeling confident in her own beauty.
…where we all help to build self-esteem in the people we love most.
Dove is committed to building positive self-esteem and inspiring all women and girls to reach their full potential by caring for themselves and each other — but needs help!
We’re building a movement in which women everywhere have the tools to take action and inspire each other and the girls in their lives. It could be as simple as sending a word of encouragement to a girl in your life or supporting self-esteem education in your town. From mentoring the next generation to celebrating real beauty in ourselves and others, we can open a world of possibilities for women and girls everywhere.
Everyone has the opportunity to make a difference in a young girl’s self-esteem. Here are three things you can do for the Dove Self-Esteem Weekend on October 22nd-24th:
- National Partners: Participate in one of our national partner events: Girl Scouts of the USA, The Boys & Girls Club of America, Girls, Inc.
- Local Girls Organizations: Host a self-esteem building event in your community. Register your event on our map at dovemovement.com
- Individuals: Download free self-esteem building activities and spend an hour with a girl in your life. Register your event on our map at dovemovement.com

MY THOUGHTS:
I love Dove not only for its products (which are amazing) but because it is a company that really does care about women of all ages. The Dove Movement for Self-Esteem is something that it is so simple yet so important. There are so many girls out there who lack confidence and self-esteem, and maybe just need a push in the right direction.
One question Dove has asked is: “What do you wish you’d known at 13?”
Let’s see at 13 I was trying so hard to fit in one of the cliques in my school – was a prep, jock, loner, class clown…. I remember moving from group to group trying to discover myself and be popular. I wish I could have told myself that “You are who you are and good things will come!”
Now even though 30 is slowly creeping up on me, I admit I don’t always feel beautiful or believe in myself. I also have a 12 year old sister who is on the verge of puberty and I know could use a boost herself. I think I am going to take her on a sister bonding day and get pedicures and maybe facials! I am also going to try to slip in some on the Conversation Starters I found on the Dove Movement web page.
Always remember this, “You’re Good Enough, You’re Smart Enough, and Doggone It, People Like You!”
Will you join me? What do you wish you’d known at 13?
