iTunes App Review: The Berenstain Bears Go to Sunday School

The Berenstain Bears Go to Sunday School – Oceanhouse Media

Released:  September 22, 2010

ABOUT THE APP:

Sundays find the Bear family busily enjoying all sorts of activities, but church isn’t one of them. In “The Berenstain Bears Go to Sunday School,” the children discover the value of going to Sunday school as a family.

When Mama Bear decides it’s been too long since they’ve attended church at the Chapel in the Woods, the Bear family works to get back in the habit. It isn’t long before the family remembers what a wonderful place the church is and finds that going to church is something they look forward to every week. “The Berenstain Bears Go to Sunday School” was the 2009 Retailers Choice Award winner in the Children’s Nonfiction category.

MY THOUGHTS:

This app is adorable!  It not only features the loveable Berenstain Bears but the app lets you tap all over the screen on things and it tells you what the item or person is.  For example, on each screen you can click practically everything and it will say “Sky” “Chapel” “Bear Country” “Brother” and so on.  I think they is neat because it really teaches kids words and associates them to examples!  The app is also beautifully illustrated and tells a great story.  My son likes “Read to Me” when he wants to tap around but if wants to just watch it and lounge (like TV) he puts on Auto Play and it just goes through the whole story without having to tap or swipe anything.  It reminds me exactly of the traditional Berenstain Bears books and is great for kids of all ages!

BUY IT: You can buy The Berenstain Bears Go to Sunday School for your iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad for $2.99
