Tie Buddies Review (& Giveaway Ends 11/12)

ABOUT:

Tie Buddies® will revolutionize when and how children learn to tie their shoes. With Velcro and slip-ons the average age of children learning to tie has increased with some children learning as late as 9 or 10.
Tie Buddies® offer children ages 3-9 the independence of tying their own shoes while quickly teaching them a method which is based around characters and stories depicted on the Tie Buddies® themselves. Tie Buddies® first offering includes one design each for boys and girls but rest assured more great characters are to come!

MY THOUGHTS:

My boys are too young still for me to think about teaching them to tie their shoes, but I know it will be sooner than I think.  I remember struggling myself with tying my shoes and I actually never quite grasped the whole “Bunny Ear” thing.  I remember actually just leaving my shoes tied and slipping them on and off, which probably was terrible for my shoes.  I am having a hard enough time with potty training that I am actually dreading shoe tying.

When I heard of Tie Buddies I figured they couldn’t hurt and they looked cool!  They are very small plastic squares that fit over your child’s laces and make it easy for small hands to grasp and tie their laces.  The plastic squares not only make it easy to hold the laces but they don’t require crazy steps other than crossing the laces twice.  It is hard to describe, but it really does seem much easier with the Tie Buddies and they look cool on your child’s shoes.  Tie Buddies are not babyish or crazy, but they look like they belong on the laces.  I really think they will help kids and am no longer hesitant about teaching my sons to tie their shoes.  Each pack comes with enough squares for one pair of shoes.  They are easy though to pull on and off if you need to change shoes.
