Hoover FloorMate Challenge Party

Ever since I received the Hoover FloorMate (read my review here) I have been breaking it out almost daily (it seems like) to clean up some mess or to show it off to someone.  My friends and family are used to me being “in the know” about new and great products so they always ask about what I have tried out lately.  The Hoover FloorMate is one product that I still show off to anyone that comes over because it is so neat and effective!

Here is a YouTube video I found from Hoover hosting their own challenge:

So when I was asked to throw a Hoover FloorMate Challenge Party, I figured it was a no brainer!  I usually have kids and their parents over to play so I just told everyone I would provide snacks and that I wanted to show them this cool vacuum I have.  My friends and family are used to me asking and saying strange things, so they were like “free food we’ll be there!”

I put out some snacks and drinks and as soon as the kids were playing I broke out the FloorMate.  I first showed off the vacuum feature which I love that it is built in.  Next, I “accidentally” spilled some apple juice on the floor.  All the women were like “What are you doing?”  I then explained that this is not just a vacuum, but also hard surface floor cleaner!  I changed the setting to WASH, added the solution and water, then turned it on.  I went over the spot and had it cleaned up in no time.  I even set it to DRY to show off how it also dries the surface.  This feature surprised everyone because with kids at home, you don’t have to have wet floors they can slip on so most of us wash floors after the kids go to bed so they have sufficient time to dry.

A few of my party guests wanted to try out the FloorMate so I of course handed it over, I mean they were asking to clean my floors for me why would I want to stop them!  They cleaned up spills and just went over spots that looked clean.  Since I have dark wood floors it is hard to see what’s dirty which is good and bad.  It’s good because my floors don’t really ever look dirty, but because they don’t look dirty I also don’t clean them as much as I should!  With the FloorMate I explained how I can at least have the assurance that my floors are getting scrubbed with 6 rotating brushes and the dirty water is not going back onto my floors.  It is amazing to see how dirty the water gets from cleaning my floors, even when  I thought they were clean!

Overall, all of the women at my party were definitely impressed with the FloorMate and wanted one.  Not everyone was truly convinced but I have a feeling they will be thinking of the FloorMate next time they clean their floors.  Some other features my guests liked were how the FloorMate is relatively lightweight, that is was easy to change settings and push, and that the Hoover cleaning solution is easy to find at stores.

BUY IT: You can buy the Hoover Floormate for $149.99 directly from the Hoover website or wherever vacuums are sold.
