MY THOUGHTS:
My sons were never big Barney fans until recently and all of the sudden my 3 year old is begging me to watch Barney DVDs that we have. I think it is because he is really getting into dinosaurs but whatever it is I would much rather him watch Barney than some of the other kid shows. Barney really is wholesome and happy, and he always teaches good lessons. The “Barney Live in Concert Birthday Bash!” was a great show full of lots of singing, dancing, and dino fun! Barney was joined by Baby Bop, BJ, and Riff, which my husband had no clue there were other dinosaurs from the show! The show was about Barney’s birthday and included all sorts of birthday party suggestions and streamers! I loved that most of the music was nursery rhymes that my son is learning in preschool so he recognized them and I was able to sing along with him. There were also three cast members up there helping out to get the audience excited and involved. They even sang songs with a twist like the “ABC” song was sang with a Hawaii-salsa like theme. This show would really be great for any child, Barney fan or not, since they sing a lot of popular nursery rhymes and want kids to be singing and dancing along! It is just under two hours long with a 15 minute intermission.
