MY THOUGHTS:

My boys love hanging out in the basement but I don’t really get a good wireless signal downstairs to be able to use my laptop.  I pretty much have to sit at the base of the stairs to get a signal.  Installing the Wi-Fire was as easy as installing a CD and plugging it into my USB port on my laptop.  It was pretty cool to see how I only had two wireless networks available to me and after plugging in the Wii Fire, I had four available.  I am now able to safely and comfortably surf the Internet from my basement couch!  I am really looking forward to trying this out in the summer too when I hang outside and my signal doesn’t usually reach.  With a range of 1,000 feet, it is pretty neat!  I am able to see more wireless networks then before.  Now of course if the network is secure you won’t be able to access it without the password but for those times when your Internet is slow or just doesn’t reach, the Wi-Fire is great.

I wish I had this product when I was in college as I really could have used an Internet boost not to mention free network, since I would have been able to connect to somewhere since everywhere had a free network.  I am also going to keep this with me in my laptop bag in case I ever need to connect to the Internet but don’t want to drag my boys in somewhere, for example checking something for a parking lot of a place that has free internet!  It also sits on the top of my MacBook just fine and you can also place it flat on any surface, or best put it up as high as you can and point towards the Internet connection.  If you are worried about spending the $50 on this product and having it not work as well for you, hField Technologies offers a 30 Day return policy, but found that they can usually troubleshoot with you and resolve the problem.
