Tool Shopping

So for Christmas I usually get my dad a sweater or some polo shirts.  He does not go shopping at all and my mom is not a big shopper so I usually buy him a bunch of shirts and such to last him awhile.  This year though I was thinking of changing it up and getting him something else.  I considered a box set of his favorite television show but I don’t really see him using the DVD player (he prefers fliping tv channels.)  My next thought was a nice razor but then I remembered buying him one for his birthday a few years ago and then seeing my brother with it so I guess he didn’t like the razor.  My husband mentioned tools and I thought that was a good idea.

So started my journey for buying a tool for my dad who has tons of tools already.  I didn’t know what he had and what he didn’t so it was going to be a challenge.  He is a roofer by trade so I figured new roofing tools would be nice, but again I had no clue where to start.  I checked out some tool websites and found tools that I never heard of like an annular cutter?

I figured I couldn’t go wrong with a nice wrench set or toolbox as those seem to be popular and bestsellers.  My husband is not really handy so he wasn’t too helpful picking out tools but did point out a metal hole saw he thought my dad could maybe use.  I still have no clue and will probably end up getting him another sweater and shirts and maybe next year I will hint at my dad for what tool of his could use replacing!  I probably shouldn’t wait until the last minute!
