Disney on Ice Toy Story 3 Review & Coupon!

Last night my family and I attended the Disney on Ice Toy Story 3 at the Allstate Arena.  It was an awesome show!  We are huge Toy Story fans and I even dressed my boys in their Halloween costumes – Buzz Lightyear and Woody!  They were so excited when we got there and they saw the ice and lights all set up.

The show started out with Mickey and Minnie and the gang introducing the show.  It was a nice surprise to see Mickey since we are going to Disney World in a few months.  Next came the Green Army Man, lots of them! They were everywhere, even parachuting from the ceiling!  There was just so much going on that I know I will forget some of it.  The show followed the movie somewhat but there were many scenes and toys left out, and there was more focus on other parts.

There was fire, sparks, and lots of crazy lights and colors.  The backdrop changed a few times and there was stuff going up and down from the ceiling.  There was also lots of music and dancing.   My favorite scenes though was the ice skating, usually at ice shows they do some basic skating moves, but the Toy Story show seemed to really change it up.  Buzz did a back flip, Barbie and Ken did a dancing scene together, and there were lots of other great moves!  I was though really impressed with how the characters moved especially in their costumes – Slinky Dog, Lotso Huggin Bear, Rex, they were all huge but still graceful.

My Slideshow:

There were so many great scenes though throughout the just over two-hour show.  Barbie came out singing and then a whole bunch more Barbie dolls joined here and sang about girls having fun and more!  There was a scene with Ken and Barbie, where he tried on clothes like from the movie.  The scene where the kids played with (attacked) the new toys was a little weird, but I don’t know how else they would have shown it.  The end was also jammed into a scene, but it was still good.  I would say that it definitely helped watching the movie first, otherwise you might be a little lost or confused.

Overall, the show had so much going on and definitely worth seeing.  We went opening and it was jam packed in there and I can only imagine all the other shows will be just as crowded.  For me, Toy Story first came out when I was in high school and since I had younger siblings I grew up with Buzz and Woody.  It is so awesome that I can now share that experience with my sons through the new movie Toy Story 3 and the Disney on Ice show!
