ABOUT:

BKW Seasonings is a family-owned business that has been around since the early 1960’s.  The seasoning was created to produce a unique buffalo-style wing for family and friends.  Then in 1997 a small take-out restaurant was opened near the University of Tennessee campus called Big Kahuna Wings.  After winning a wing competition, the Big Kahuna was born.  The Big Kahuna Original Gourmet Blend came out after realizing the seasoning was exceptionally good to bring out the true flavor in almost any food!

Big Kahuna Original Gourmet Blend is the most unique seasoning ever to hit the market.  A versatile, all-purpose blend, it brings out the true flavor of almost any food and its uses are endless.  Although it was created for fried chicken, it is great on almost anything!

Other than the BKW Original Gourmet, there are also plenty of other great flavors:  Original Pepper, Original Butter, Barbecue Rub, Original Fire, Original Light, and Cajun Rub.

MY THOUGHTS:

My husband and I love trying out new seasonings.  He is a little more extreme than me by adding seasoning to almost anything, but I strongly believe a little (or a lot) of seasoning can really make a difference!  The BKW Original Gourmet Big Kahuna Blend is a great blend that really is good on anything.  So far we have tried it on French fries, hamburgers, and breaded chicken.  I can’t wait to try out some of the recipes on the BKW webpage though, including the chicken wings!  It comes out like salt and can be added as whatever amount you’d like, my husband tends to use more than me!  I really can’t even describe the taste other than to say it is delicious!  It is rich, bold, and not spicy.  I would recommend a bottle for anyone looking to change up their meals, especially this summer with grilling season!  Also, while I didn’t see nutritional information on the bottle or website, I did ask about it and was told “The Original blend has only 35% salt so it is a low salt item.”  I care especially about salt since I have high blood pressure and anywhere I can eliminate some salt in my diet I am happy.
