The extremely popular series The Fairies from Australia is now launching in the U.S.! A wave of a wand and a sprinkle of fairy dust take you through the Magical Mystery Tree and into Fairyland to join the beautiful fairies, Harmony, Rhapsody and their magical friends.  Fairyland is a fantasy garden where the fairies and their friends sing, dance, and explore their way through the enchanted world.  The fairies encourage friendship, build self-esteem, and help solve problems in this magical fairy feature.

The Fairies is an enchanting, magical fantasy, come to life in pretty shades of pink.  This live-action, musical series for preschoolers introduces two beautiful fairies, Harmony and Rhapsody. The Fairies explore Fairyland through play and adventure with their days full of magic, friends, giggles, singing and dancing and of course, fan-fairy-tastic fun!  Fairyland is just brimming full of fan-fairy-tastic friends, so dust off your wings, wave your wand, and start getting to know them a little better!  There’s the pretty purple fairy Harmony and her best friend, Rhapsody (who is always in pink)! Then we meet the yellow and black striped bee, Barnaby the Bizzy Buzzy Bee; their all-dancing, cake cooking friend, Elf the Fairy Cake Maker, and of course the ever perplexed Wizzy the Wizard (who never gets his spells right).  Friends drop in from time to time – we meet Bubbles the Beach Fairy and Twinkle the Tooth Fairy, and of course the Tots (young fairies and elves in training); Melody, Jingles, Treble, Acorn and Buttercup.

So many friends and so much fun in Fairyland!

MY THOUGHTS:

This DVD is not like any other DVD we have watched before.  Actually since the show is an Australian show, it reminds me of the Wiggles, but about Fairies!  The DVD is not an animated DVD but rather actual people playing characters, including a few kids which are adorable!  There are two female fairies, an Elf baker, and a Bumble Bee guy as the main characters.  The show features Fairyland and what goes on and how the characters work together, play with their friends, and there is lots and lots of singing.

When I first showed my boys it, my 4 year old son said “No” and so I put it on my laptop for my 2 year old son to watch.  Soon both boys were glued to the laptop screen and begging to finish it!  Their favorite character was the Elf baker, not sure why.  Normally they don’t like a lot of singing and with the DVD being kind of girly, I didn’t think they’d like it, but they did!  Since it has guy characters in it, I don’t think it is just for girls, although girls would probably love it more because of the whole Fairy thing.  It is a very cute show and with it being a hit in Australia I think it will definitely be a hit here!
