MY THOUGHTS:

We just went and saw Monster Jam live at our local arena, and my boys absolutely loved it.  They kept saying “more, more!”  Well now with the “Monster Jam 3: Path of Destruction” Wii game they can enjoy monster trucks at home, including their favorites that they saw live!  The game comes with a Grave Digger steering wheel that you insert your Wii remote into, but you can buy the game separate if you’d like and use it with or without a wheel.  There are two ways to place when you first turn on the game – either racing competition or Freestyle.  I found that Freestyle is much easier for them since they can just drive around and hit things.  The racing part was a little tricky for them to stay on course, but then again they are only 2 and 4 years old!  I also found the controls for the racing course were a little difficult and took awhile to get used it.

When we first turned the game on, they played it for almost an hour and it didn’t take long for my 2 year old to get the hang of it.  The game also came with a whole sheet of Monster Jam stickers that he decorated the steering wheel with amongst other things in our house!  This is the perfect game for any monster truck fan, whether you saw the show or not.  It really brings the trucks into your house and helps let out steam!  I will say I didn’t really like that you have to unlock the other trucks as my boys haven’t been able to do that yet, but I think eventually they will figure it out and until then it gives me and my husband something to work on!  The popular trucks are in there too like Grave Digger and Monster Mutt, my son’s favorites!

BUY IT: Look for “Monster Jam 3: Path of Destruction with Grave Digger Steering Wheel Peripheral” wherever video games are sold or check it out on Amazon for $38.99 (Wii).
