Moe’s Southwest Grill Review (& $25 GC Giveaway Ends 5/11)

 

ABOUT:

Moe’s Southwest Grill is a made-to-order southwest fare fast-casual dining restaurant.  It’s menu features tacos, burritos, quesadillas, nachos, salads, fajitas and more!  Guests can choose from over 25 fresh ingredients including grilled chicken, steak, ground beef, pulled pork, bacon, or tofu.  Every order also receives a basket of free chips and salsa!  To demonstrate their commitment to freshness, Moe’s has never used freezer, microwaves, animal fat, lard or MSG.

Food quality, safety and customer service is very important but to lighten things up all the menu items have fun names like The Funk Meister taco and so forth!  All the music played is also from artists who have passed away to honor those artists who left us too soon.

In an effort to push healthy eating, Moe’s has recently unveiled new menu items including low-calorie, gluten-free and vegetarian options.  Moe’s also participates in Meatless Mondays ( a recent trend  talked about on Oprah).

MY THOUGHTS:

I am lucky that the Moe’s Southwest Grill is about 20 minutes away from me or I’d probably be there all the time!  My husband and I took our boys there for the first time a week ago and it was delicious!  When you first walk in there is a huge menu board to choose from, including a kid’s meal section with pictures.  Oh and we were loudly greeted with a friendly greeting.  We then proceed to the counter to order and were asked about everything we wanted on it.  Moe’s reminded me of a Subway (or sandwich shop) where you order what you want.  The employees were happy to make it how we asked, I hate when the employees get mad when I ask for ingredient changes.

I ordered the Ground Beef Taco Salad and it was awesome!  Since it was my first time I was unsure of which dressing I wanted (Chipotle Ranch or Southwestern Vinaigrette) so the employee offered both to me on the side.  I customized my salad with all the traditional ingredients including cilantro and cucumbers, which were unique ingredients to add!

My husband had the Grass Fed Sirloin Steak Fajitas and it was served with the meat, tortillas and all the fixin’s on the side.  My husband loved that he was able to make his own fajitas rather than having them be pre-made.

My boys shared the Mini Masterpiece (kid-sized quesadilla) and rice and they loved it.  The kids menu includes a beverage and cookie!

The free chips and salsa were great and I loved the Salsa Bar!  It features a few different salsa choices to try out!

Overall, my family and I had a great time at Moe’s Southwest Grill.  We will definitely be returning and trying out different items on their menu.  Moe’s stands out for me because they offer the easily customized choices for the menu items, the free chips and salsa, the Salsa Bar, and a great atmosphere to eat in. I didn’t feel rushed and my boys did great eating there – which they are not always on their best behavior!  It also reminds me of more than a fast-food restaurant but not somewhere you need reservations for, just walk on in and order!
