Building a Bar…

On our list of things to do in the far off future is build one of those fancy home bars in our basement.  My husband has always dreamed of having a nice bar but it is not in our budget at all.  Not only is it not in our budget but I’d rather have a big basement now for the kids to play in.  They have some wheelie toys they ride around and a bounce house that takes up pretty much the whole basement!

Right now my husband just dreams about his bar and designs it in his head.  I never realized though until recently how expensive bar furniture can be and am glad we are waiting on it.    Luckily my father-in-law is a carpenter and my husband was thinking of having him and his dad build the bar himself.  I think it would be a great bonding experience and my husband would get what he wanted!  Our basement though is a weird shape since we have two bedrooms down there and a kitchen which cut around a center.  I’d like a smaller corner bar cabinet so it doesn’t take up a lot of room in case we want to make more of a game room or something else down there.  Then I think too do I really want a bar down there when the kids are older, because then I have to worry about them sneaking liquor!  Whatever we do, it will definitely be awhile!
