MY THOUGHTS:

Before our kids were born, my husband and I played board and card games quite often.  It was a cheap way to spend quality time together and with so many games out there we never got bored.  When our kids were born, we were either too tired or too busy playing catch-up on house duties to play games.

Now that our kids are bigger I am excited to start playing games again, at least try and make time for it.  So the other night my husband sat down and with a recorded episode of American Idol in the background, we opened up the game of Skunked.  It is a small game of dice and chips that is all ab0ut risk tasking.  The directions are easy to understand and we picked up the game quickly.   Basically one person rolls the dice and keeps adding up the numbers.  Each roll you can decide to either stop or keep going, the point is to reach 100.  If you roll a 1 you loose your turn and whatever your total was for that turn.  If you roll two one’s then you loose your total for the entire round and start at zero.  So its like each turn you decide if you want to keep rolling or stop at your total, basically how much do you want to risk that you won’t roll a one!  You also have to pay a chip to the pot each turn and if you roll a one.  The winner gets all the chips in the pot.  It is a fun game of risk taking and counting!  I think it will be a great game for them to play too to start adding numbers together when they are learning that and about how risks work.

Skunked comes with everything you need – chips and dice – and comes in a very small box perfect for traveling or storing.  I think it would be great for both kids and adults to play!
