iTunes App Review: “Toddler Train Crash” (& Giveaway Ends 6/17)

Toddler Train Crash – Entertain & Teach Your Child – Null Technologies LLC

Released: April 22, 2011

ABOUT THE APP:

Do you have a toddler that loves trains and playing on your iPhone/iPad? Then you’ve probably download apps that were either very complicated, boring, or not teaching your kid anything. Sad.

Now imagine your toddler playing with trains and learning while you get stuff done. You could shop for groceries, do the dishes, write the bills, and much more all while your toddler happily learns and plays Toddler Train Crash.

Teachers, parents, and kids love Toddler Train Crash because of the colorful train imagery, kid-friendly sounds, energetic voice, and game play that keeps your preschool child learning.

The focus on simplicity allows you to be hands off. There are no menus for your child to touch that will have them lost and needing help.

Why your toddler will love Toddler Train Crash:

* Simple, preschool friendly game play… no distractions, start-up menus, or touchable icons.
* Colorful trains to keep your child engaged.
* Train whistle & train moving sounds.
* It’s entertaining and challenging! They control one train’s speed while the other train changes speeds randomly.
* Fully voiced by former radio personality, Nica.

Why you’ll love Toddler Train Crash:

* No need to assist your child with this app. It starts immediately and is simple to play.
* It’s educational – your child will learn colors while playing.
* Teaches hand-eye coordination with different train speeds.
* Your toddler will learn fine motor skills as movable train speed varies based on child’s interaction.

MY THOUGHTS:

This is a very simple app where you have two trains on tracks and you can either let them crash or speed up the train so they don’t crash – then you get a Great Job sign!  My boys of course love to crash the trains to see the boom of stars but they also think its challenging to try to not crash the trains.  There are realistic engine and whistle sounds and the narration is done by a girl with a happy voice who says just a few phrases.  The app is full of very bright colors and when you tap on the trains the narrator repeats what the color they are.  While this is a simple app with only two objectives it keeps my boys laughing and occupied (2 and 4) and would be great for any kid train lovers!
