My Poor Baby Boy Has the Sneezes… #CleverAllergyfriendly

I wrote this post while participating in a blog tour conducted by Clever Girls Collective on behalf of Children’s Claritin®. I have been compensated for my time commitment to the program.

We moved into our current house two years ago and what does it have in the backyard, two giant cottonwood trees.  Now this was not going to deter us from buying the house but it is definitely on our list to get them removed.  Why would we want to get rid of these nice shady trees?  Well all I can say is “Achooooo!”  I typically have seasonal allergies but for the two weeks or so that the cottonwood comes done, my allergies are worse.  I wouldn’t wish allergies on anyone as they can be unpredictable, overpowering and just plain annoying!

This summer I noticed my 4 year old sneezing and blowing his nose more often and it appears he too is suffering from allergies!  I feel so bad for him because he doesn’t really understand why I want him to stay in the front yard or why he is all of the sudden sneezing uncontrollably!  He does though like the grape Claritin tablets I have been giving him, which seem to be helping.  I guess too its hard for me to understand because I didn’t get my allergies until I was in my 20’s but then again I lived in the city and didn’t have a lot of trees or pollen to deal with.  So far I haven’t noticed my 3-year-old affected by allergies but then again it could pop up anytime.  I think to it can be hard to diagnose sometimes because allergies or a cold, since they have the same symptoms but I think the sneezing is what does it.  I have never seen my 4-year-old sneeze so much and his whole little body moves when he sneezes!  He also seems to have less energy and just wants to lay around and watch tv, which is fine with me because we are inside and away from the trees!  I hope his allergies are controllable by pills or a liquid at the most because I don’t want him to have to suffer through shots, which my husband had to do weekly when he was younger.

What age was your child when they started suffering from allergies?  What do you do for them?
