Piggy Paint “Not Just for Kids!” Review (& Giveaway Ends 6/24)

ABOUT:

Piggy Paint is a natural, eco-friendly nail polish geared towards young girls.  Since it is hypoallergenic and non-toxic there are no harsh fumes to breath.  Piggy Paint recently came out with a new line geared towards women called “Refined” which is more sophisticated colors and even safe for pregnant moms.

MY THOUGHTS:

Being pregnant one thing I hate is chemical smells.  My sense of smell has drastically increased and certain smells I just can’t handle or I know I should be around in general.  Nail polish is normally one of those smells, but then again I hate not having my toes painted in the summer.

Piggy Paint bottles are the same size as regular bottles of nail polish yet does have a skinny brush great for little nails!  Piggy Paint is water based and does take longer to dry and achieve maximum hardness, and a blow dryer on low is recommend to speed up drying.

I painted my toes and normally I would do it outside so the smell doesn’t take over the house and bother us, but when I opened the Piggy Paint bottle I noticed immediately there was no smell!  The brush was smaller which was perfect for painting my little toes and not making a mess!  The color went on smooth and easily.  It is recommended to use a blow dryer on low for maximum chip resistance but I let my toes air dry outside and so far so good.  I love how bright the colors are and it seems pretty durable for a water-based product!

Piggy Paint comes in so many great colors that even though there is a women’s line with more “adult” colors like Coffee Talk and Not your Mama’s Mauve, I also love the original Piggy Paint colors.  I decided on Ice Cream Dream, Mac-n-Cheese Please and Candy Coated.  All three colors are bright and “pop!”  While Piggy Paint does cost more than nail polish at the store (about $8.99 a bottle) it is definitely worth it to rid your house and lungs of the smells, especially if you are pregnant, trying to be eco-friendly or using the nail polish on young kids.  If nail polish smells bother adults than I can only imagine what it does to little girls!  I am thinking too that Piggy Paint would make a great gift as they also have great gift packs available.
