Thinking of my blog as terms of a TV show…

The TNT show “Rizzoli & Isles” is a drama based off the mystery novels of Tess Gerritsen.  It stars Angie Harmon as police detective Jane Rizzoli and Sasha Alexander as medical examiner Dr. Maura Isles.  The author has said that the show’s adaption was a dream come true.

As an author myself, yes I mean of my blog, I wonder what my blog would be like as a TV series, and I have to say it’d be weird.  Just as in Rizzoli & Isles, there is history between the two characters as friends and colleagues who make the show work great based on their personalities.  My blog has always only been me so while I don’t have the comradely of another person blogging with me, I do try to incorporate as much as I can to offer variety.  Seeing as my blog is mainly product reviews and giveaways, I suppose my blog would be turned into a tv show that focuses on new products and ideas.  It would probably be on TLC (The Learning Channel) or another similar channel.  While I am typically an outgoing person, I think for this I’d prefer to be the writer and someone else be on the show for it as I think I’d be camera shy.  I definitely would want the television show to have guests appearing (like guest posts) and be funny as well as informative.

I have been growing my blog now for almost three years and have had so many changes that I have lost count.  From my blog focus to my blog name/URL, to my design and blogging platform, my blog is a constant work in progress.  I think tv shows in general are like that and love how even though Rizzoli and Isles do similar tasks every week on the show (Rizzoli goes after the bad guys and Isles autopsies the dead) the show is one I look forward to and can’t get enough of.  Maybe its because the main characters are female and have powerful jobs or because it is about fighting crime, but the storyline keeps me watching!

  • What a great angle to take a review, comparing a television show to your blogging life :)

I've never really seen the show, but I've heard good things about it!
