Wendys Berry Almond Chicken Salad Review

ABOUT:

Wendy’s philosophy has always been serving customers the best ingredients from the farm to restaurant kitchens, and now they have introduced the new Berry Almond Chicken Salad.  This new salad makes Wendy’s the only national fast food restaurant to serve a salad with fresh berries this season, and it is an extension of Wendy’s Garden Sensations line of premium salads that have bolstered Wendy’s salad unit sales by 60 percent over last year.

Product attributes:

  • California-grown strawberries & blueberries – excellent sources of vitamin C and equate to one full serving of fruit
  • A seasonal salad that will only be offered when the berries are at the peak of freshness and in both entree and half sizes
  • All-natural, fat-free raspberry vinaigrette salad dressing features acai juice, a “super food” packed with flavonoids, which are powerful antioxidants
  • Salads are assembled in store every morning, as crew members arrive two hours early to prep the ingredients before store opening
  • Strawberries & blueberries are kid-friendly fruits – the half-sized portion is a perfect option for little ones with sophisticated taste buds

MY THOUGHTS:

I absolutely love the new Berry Almond Chicken Salad.  I am more than hooked on it, that I am actually driving my husband crazy with how much I want to go to Wendy’s.  First off let me say I am not a big berry person nor do I like chicken in my salads.  Usually though when a fast-food restaurant has chicken in their salads it is processed or small pieces, Wendy’s uses an actual grilled chicken breast and cuts it up for the salad.  Next the berries, strawberries and blueberries, are just right and fresh, not overpowering in the salad.  To finish off the salad, there are Asiago cheese flakes, Raspberry vinaigrette and toasted almonds.  It really is a perfect combination of everything and works so well together.

Wendy’s also offers half-sized portions of their salads that you can pair with fries, hamburgers, or a bunch of other great menu items so even if you are not in the mood for a full salad you can still get a fix of this salad and the burger you are craving.  I honestly get a whole salad which lasts me a meal and a half and I get some fries for my salty craving (oh and Wendy’s fries now have Sea Salt on them which makes them even yummier!)  I highly recommend the Berry Almond Chicken Salad whether you are a salad lover or someone like me who needs more substance than just some lettuce leaves.  Oh and they also have a new Berry Iced Tea which is to die for and goes perfect with the salad!

  • I don't know. I love all those things but probably not together! That's alot of berries for a salad. I think it should be Wendy's new berry dessert a la lettuce. I'll probably try it out though.
