MY THOUGHTS:

I am terrible at pre-rinsing our dishes (and really if I have to pre-rinse then I usually end up just handwashing the dish anyway.)  While I typically use a gel dishwasher detergent (not sure why but that’s what I usually grab) I was curious to check out a powdered detergent to see how well it works and lasts.  The Household Traditions (by Tropical Traditions) Powdered Dishwasher Detergent comes in a giant plastic container that fits nicely under my sink and is easy to use.  I just scoop out some to pour in my dishwasher dispenser and its ready to go.

It is great that it is free of chlorine, phosphates, fillers and fragrances as I never really thought about those in my detergent, and I am sure that really appeals to some people.  I like that it specifically mentions that it has a naturally derived rinse agent and hard water treatment additive as we have well water in our house and need all the help we can get.  This detergent is great too if you are try to go “green” and looking for environmentally friendly products.  This is a natural dishwasher detergent that actually works and cleans your dishes without leaving a chemical residue behind.  I haven’t had any problems with it and the container seems to be lasting me quite awhile!  Right now too you can get the 5lb. container for less than $20!
