ABOUT:
Smart Play is a company that believes that the best time to learn a second language is during the early years of childhood (when kids minds are most open to language acquisition). Bilingual children are said to have better communication skills, read more books and have an easier time learning additional languages. As a way for kids to become bilingual, Smart Play has a line of great toys available to help teach kids while they play!
MY THOUGHTS:
My boys are 3 and 4 and while my husband and I only speak English, I understand the value of learning a second language. Smart Play is a company that I came across when looking for some learning toys for my boys. I was specifically looking for something to help my boys with drawing and writing. My 3 year old especially is interested in drawing so I figure before he starts preschool in August I’d work with him on letters to get him started. The Smart Projector by Smart Play is a product that I was very excited to check out.
Features:
NOTE: Requires 3 AA batteries. Crayons not included.
Right now my 4 year old is very much into writing his name and learning the alphabet while my 3 year old loves to draw in general. The Smart Play Smart Projector is an awesome product for both of them to enjoy for years to come. Setting up the Smart Projector was super easy and it is just the turn of a knob to turn it on and push of a button to change out the slides. There are four slides total that sit nicely in slots when not in use that feature animals, numbers and letters. There are also slots for crayons to store so you are always ready to start drawing! My 3 year old can turn it on/off by himself and put in the slides himself too, although I had to teach him to be careful. I cannot say enough good things about this product as I really think it is great for ages 3 and up and I probably would have loved it myself just to draw and trace the animals through 10 years old! It is so cool how the light shines down and projects the image you have the slide on so you can easily trace it. I remember using stencils or tracing images from underneath paper, but by projecting the image it makes it cleaner and easier to draw I think. This is also a product great for both boys and girls!
