Opa Cove Grrreat White Shark Life Jacket Review

MY THOUGHTS:

Since my parents have a pool, we visit quite often in the summer not to mention all the other pools we hit up in the summer time!  I was fortunate enough to get hand-me down life jackets for them, but they are boring yellow and my 4 year old especially puts up a fight each time I put it on him.  Then I received a shark life jacket from Opa Cove and not I have to fight with my son to get it off him!

Durable neoprene with tech fabric liner. Nice and comfy against the skin. Qualifies as a ski vest or wake-boarding vest. Also a good warmth layer. Sturdy, flexible fin can be gripped to aid in water rescue, and lies flat against the back for comfortable sitting in chairs and on boats. Heavy duty plastic zipper and buckles. Designed with choice of three sizes for optimum fit (so strap between child’s legs doesn’t have to be too tight.) U.S. Coast Guard certified. Patent and patent pending.

The week we received it the weather was terrible so we couldn’t go swimming, so Aidan wore the jacket all around the house for days!  When we were finally able to go swimming with it, he swam the most he ever swam that day.  He glided through the water and pretended he was a shark and I felt better knowing he was safe.  I think it is absolutely genius creating fun life jackets, especially of sharks, because kids want to wear them then.  The life jacket is U.S. Coast Guard certified and is easy to put on.  I hadn’t even thought about using the flexible shark fin on the back as a grip for rescuing.  So far we have only used this jacket in a pool, but it can also be used as a ski vest or wake-boarding vest.  I know too when we use this jacket at the local water park that we will get compliments about it to and jealous kids, I mean have you ever seen those ugly life jackets they rent at water parks!

The great thing too about Opa Cove life jackets is that they will fit for a good amount of time.  Size Medium is from 30-50 pounds and seeing as my 4 year old is only 37 pounds I know he will fit into it at least next year and then my younger kids can use it.  The Shark Life Jacket also comes in a bunch of other great colors including blue, gray, orange, pink, and yellow!  Opa Cove even sells Swim Assit Vests with floatation panels built in.  Overall, I am very impressed with Opa Cove Sea Squirts Life Jackets and highly recommend them!
