Was it Really Red John?

So I admit I haven’t seen as much of The Mentalist as I’d like (hey that’s why the seasons come to DVD!) but I could only imagine how Patrick feels about Red John.  If you are not familiar with him, Patrick’s wife and daughter were killed by serial killer Red John. When the Season 3 finale of The Mentalist featured a man who claims to be Red John, you have to wonder if he really is?  Now I am not one to guess, I am always wrong, even if I think I know who do it, I am wrong!

Knowing that Patrick is never (rarely) wrong, I have to assume he did kill the real Red John.  Then I think though the show might not be the same without Patrick’s revenge of Red John.  Patrick feeds off of his revenge and that is part of his character and the show.  Although, the show could go in all sorts of directions if he turned out to have shot the wrong man, but again I am terrible at guessing what will happen next!  I will definitely be catching up on the third season on DVD and will hopefully be ready for the fourth season!
