“Cinders and ashes!”  Thomas has a special delivery to pick up at the Gold Mine, and it turns into an exciting adventure as kids act out the fun with the Rumbling Gold Mine Run Playset.  Children simply roll Thomas up to the Gold Mine entrance ramp and then press the water tower to start the action. As the gold starts to rumble, Thomas continues to move through the collapsing mine as the gold nuggets bounce around inside the cave.  Thomas rolls out of the tunnel doors and down the ramp escaping danger!  While rolling past the abandoned mine, he sets off another explosion of rock, revealing a giant reserve of gold ore and gold nuggets fly out from the top. The back features an additional ramp that can connect to other Take-n-Play playsets so Thomas can head on to his next adventure.  This playset unfolds out to over two-feet deep and can be connected to other playsets or track packs in the line (sold separately).  For easy clean up and portability, the set folds up completely and can be carried away with the classic red Take-n-Play handle.  Includes a die cast Thomas engine.

MY THOUGHTS:

My boys are often looking for toys to grab and go whether it be to carry to another room of the house or take on the go with them.  The Rumbling Gold Mine Run Take-n-Play portable playset is a simple set but so much fun.  It has is all one piece and folds up for easy carrying, then you can hook it up easily to other Take-n-Play sets.  This set comes with one die cast metal Thomas train and a few little rocks to attach on for exploding fun.  You can also push down on the tower to watch the gold rumble or push the lever on the back so Thomas flies down faster on the ramp.

Overall, this set is perfect for any Thomas fan.  It has a carrying handle for easy portability and everything easily stores inside.  We have tried other Take-n-Play sets before and I admit I had trouble closing up the set, but this one really does snap closed quickly!  I can wait to find the rest of our Take-n-Play sets to hook them all up together now since we finally have a few sets to do it with!  It does only work well with the Die-Cast metal trains and plastic tracks but it is basically the same concept as the wooden Thomas sets.  It is ready to go pretty much right out of the box (no tools required) and it does not take batteries either!  It has kept my boys occupied for a good amount of time and they love that it is easy to bring to grandma’s house!
