Sprout Shell Review (& Coupon!)

ABOUT:

The Sprout Shell was created by a mom who didn’t want to smother her baby under blankets in the cold weather.  There just wasn’t an easy way to carry an infant carrier without blankets flying around.

The Sprout Shell is the first multi-functional infant carrier cover that grows with your baby from birth through motherhood.  It fits all infant carriers.

  • Infant Carrier Cover:  Creates tent-like enclosure that protects babies from the element and nosey strangers, and creates a cozy nap-time environment.  The hole in the top provides a secure hold on the handle, view of the baby and air circulation.  An all-around elastic keeps the cover securely in place.
  • Nursing Cover:  Moms can wear it to give nursing privacy that won’t fall or blow away.
  • Shopping Cart /High Chair Cover:  Slip it on and you child can be protected by germs.

Features:

  • 100% Cotton. Machine wash and dry Pocket measures 8″x6″

MY THOUGHTS:

When I had our first child I had a cheap high-chair/shopping cart cover, a blanket I threw on for nursing and a zippered on car seat cover.  That is three items I had to keep track of and clean.  With our second child I was lucky if I could find them!  When I saw the Sprout Shell I knew it was an awesome product – to take the place of three separate products it sold me right away.  Since Olivia is little I have used the Sprout Shell for nursing and to cover her infant car seat.  First off, it is an adorable fabric pattern (with other great styles to choose from) and its lightweight.  I love that it has a hole for peaking through the infant seat and to easily carry it with access to the handle.  For nursing it provides great coverage, although it is big where you have to pull it on/off.  I can’t wait to use it as a shopping cart cover (and on restaurant high chairs) when Olivia gets a little bigger.  Its thin enough that it is not bulky in my diaper bag and its simple.  My first shopping cart cover was very bulky and never fit inside my diaper bag – probably a reason I never really used it with my second child.

On my Graco car seat:

Elastic all the way around:

Folded up and ready to go in my diaper bag!

Since the Sprout Shell is a product that can grow from infant through toddler I think the price of $45 is a great price.  There really isn’t anything I don’t like about this product.  It even has a small pocket although you could only fit maybe a pacifier or very small toy. It is simple too, it has elastic on the bottom, a small pocket and a hole.  The hole is where you put your kids feet, car seat handle or you neck while nursing through.  I know we will get our use out of it!

BUY IT:  The Sprout Shell can be purchased directly through the Sprout Shell website for $44.99.  Use code MOM15 to save!
