Kenmore Bloggers Summit 2012 Final Thoughts #kbs2012

After our Slow Cooker Challenge, Vacuum Challenge and Innovation Brainstorming, we finished up the Kenmore Summit with a bang!  Our keynote speaker was Evan Hansen (Editor in Chief of Wired Magazine) and he discussed how blogging and technology in general has changed traditional print media.

Next up was the owner of Green Grocer, which is a local organic food store.  She demonstrated how to make awesome smoothies in the Kenmore blender – and wow is that blender powerful!  She also used ingredients I never heard of (or dreamed of using in a smoothie) such as Maca and Cacao powder, avocados, Kale, Mint, Chia Seeds and hemp milk!  I also learned to put the liquid in first to get the most out of your blender!

Even though the Summit was just a day and a dinner the night before, I am amazed at how much was jam packed into it.  I really feel like I know more about Kenmore, appliances, and cooking with appliances!  I love that we were actually challenged to use their small appliances rather than just showed a power point presentation of them and called it a day.  I am very much a visual and hands-on learner, which is what the Kenmore Live Studio is all about.  I felt too that Kenmore wanted to know more about our thoughts and ideas and cared.  Driving through the Chicago blizzard for four hours was definitely worth it for what I took away from the Kenmore Bloggers Summit 2012.  Thanks again Kenmore!

Here is a quick pic from the summit of Paula from Frosted Fingers and me:

  • Thanks for the tip about putting the liquid in your blender first. Using a blender is something I definitely have to get better at :)
