Wendy has been missing for weeks. Her boyfriend Lee has been murdered–apparently by Paul. It’s an open and shut case–or so most of Portland thinks.
Dr. Lisa Boyers, forensic psychologist, receives a call from an old friend, a connection to her troubled past. Attorney Rudy Swaner wants her to interview the young killer, who claims to have forgotten the events leading up to the murder.
Media attention mounts. Reporters stream into Portland. All eyes turn to Lisa as she is dragged unwillingly into the spotlight. She seems intent on exonerating the brutal teen killer but quickly finds herself the focus of an over-zealous reporter threatening to expose dirty secrets she’d rather not share.
MY THOUGHTS:
I love mystery books as they seem to take me away from my everyday troubles. I love that I can escape into a mystery to solve and focus on and “Lovesick” gave me a perfect opportunity. The book “Lovesick” is the second book by Spencer Seidel but it is not a sequel so don’t worry if you didn’t read the first book. I read this book in about two days as it was hard to put down. The story was about a teenage murder, love triangle, obsession, abuse and dealing with the past. Dr. Lisa Boyers had a troubling past she ends up having to deal with and then there are the three teenagers troubles. After Paul is found next to the body of his best friend with no memory he of course is arrested. It appears to be an open and shut case but then there is the missing Wendy. Everyime I thought I figured out who did this or that, I was wrong – it twists and turns throughout the character’s lives. I found the book to have well built characters and there wasn’t anything I’d change.
