Every morning my husband has his coffee, my 5 year old his chocolate milk and my 3 year old and myself, we have orange juice.  My 3 year old is actually an orange juice fiend and he is not himself until he has his orange juice (by not himself I mean he throws tantrums and grumbles until he drinks his juice!)  Tropicana Pure Premium 100% Pure Florida Orange Juice is one of our favorites.  It is affordable for our family and so delicious to start the day with.  I love too that it is from not only a brand I can trust but also pure and natural Florida orange juice.  So it is actually from fresh oranges and not concentrate!  The logo says it all as it shows a straw right in an orange!

Tropicana is the single largest buyer of Florida fruit (purchasing approximately 11.6 billion oranges from Florida each year) and uses groves in 22 different Florida counties.  They do that so they can pick oranges at their peak maturity, which varies in the different Florida counties microclimates.  Having their groves spaced out allows for Tropicana to harvest ripe fruit throughout the entire growing season.  I had no idea there was different types of oranges but there are two major types out there, Valencia and Hamlin.  Valencias have more intense color and flavor, while Hamlins can be sweeter.  Each orange adds their unique flavors and characteristics to the Tropicana blend.  To test out the taste, many Florida growers sample their oranges by cutting them into a cup shape and drinking directly from them!  It is a big deal to be a Florida orange too because they have been grown in Florida since the 1560s, which is approximately 147 years before any other U.S. state.  So I think they not only know what they are doing but have definitely perfected the process!
