So today’s post is all about one of the ways my neighbor drives me crazy! Since I live in an unincorporated town, we are free to choose our garbage company from about three different companies (most towns have one company and that is who you have to use, we get to shop around for the best price.) My neighbor’s garbage day is Monday and their garbage is picked up Monday morning. Well 1-2 times a month on Monday afternoon they put out a big hunk of garbage. Yes the item goes out after their garbage has been picked up! It is always one big item or scraps of something and not something nice enough that it ever gets picked up by local junkers.
So this horrid item that they dispose of at the curb then sits there for the rest of the day Monday all the way until the following Monday morning when their next garbage day comes! It is awful and drives me absolutely crazy! To name a few items they have thrown out, there has been a water heater, toilet, bookcase, chairs and most recently a big ugly (old) burgundy couch. There has been other ugly items out there, but those are the most memorable ones. So every time I sit outside with my kids or drive past I have to see their garbage sitting out there all week and weekend!
(Not their house luckily but some other unfortunate neighbor’s house!)
They have a huge side yard and garage and could easily put these items there but no they choose to put it on display on the curb to make our nice and clean neighborhood look trashy! I want to yell at them “What the F*** are you thinking putting your garbage out a week early!” I know its petty but it is really a site for sore eyes and ignorant. I normally would call the village but again since we are unincorporated I am not sure it would be worth it to even call or try to get someone out here to talk to them. I am not on good terms with them, nothing big, we are just different, or I’d try to explain to them that it is not right and decent to put their garbage out like that.
Oh and on a side note they still have their pumpkins out displayed on their front lawn (I am assuming their plastic since they are not rotting). My 5 year old asked the other day why they had pumpkins out since its not Halloween, I didn’t even know what to say!
