MY THOUGHTS:

My last time in New York, at the end of BlogHer, I spent my last day checking out a Midtown Cruise thanks to CitySightseeing Cruises. Since I have no idea when (or if) I will get back to New York, the Midtown Cruise was the perfect way to really see the popular spots of New York all without fighting New York traffic (which by the way is worse than Chicago, which I didn’t think was possible!) The Cruise took of from Pier 78 in the Hudson River and includes a 90-minute tour back and forth. We actually learned from our taxi driver that Pier 78 was right by where the Hudson River plane landing was a few years ago.

The cruise boat was a huge double decker ship that had plenty of room to sit and stand while viewing the sights. What I didn’t expect was how great the cruise guide was going to be. He was absolutely amazing and I rate him a 10! Throughout our cruise our guide told us not only about the fabulous landmarks, but about history and random facts! He knew so much and told us the facts in a way that I wasn’t bored but was actually interested to learn more (and I usually hate history.) He said he has lived in New York his whole life and you could tell he was really passionate about being a New York resident.

One of the many bridges we saw:

Where Titanic was supposed to dock, now a golf range:

The tour was just right with what it showed it us, the length of time it took and the price. I mean for $28 ($17 for kids) it was truly reasonable and completely worth it to me. The ship cruised at a good pace (even for my friend who gets motion sickness) and only stopped when we were in front of the lady herself.

I highly recommend checking out CitySightseeing Cruises whether you are a tourist or even New York resident. I warn you though to get their an hour early so you can get in line early to get a seat if you want it by the window or ledge.  Oh and after the cruise we were even shown a free bus that took us back to Times Square area!

Looking for something else, CitySightSeeing has other cruises to check out!

BUY IT: Check out CitySightseeing New York to see what Cruises are available!
