My boys (4 and 5 years old) have started out with Mega Bloks and they still play them, even though they have a tons of other toys laying around. Something about the simplicity of Mega Bloks and the ease of building with them just makes them a classic toy. Both of the products are adorable for little kids and age appropriate. They are designed for kids ages 1-5 years old and my kids at both ends of the age range enjoyed them. My daughter loved pushing the truck and bus around and then stacking the blocks. These are perfect toys for little hands and at just under $10 each they are a good value. Each set comes with five blocks perfect to start off a Mega Bloks collection or add to one! They are both durable plastic and do not require batteries.
