MY THOUGHTS:
When I was at BlogHer, I attended the “Relax, It’s Lees Spill Bar” event and I was amazed. The event included a Spill Bar where the bartender make mock-tinis and spilled them on the Lees carpet. She then demonstrated how easily they cleaned up! No crazy chemicals either, just water and a rag! I was truly amazed at how well the carpet cleaned up and I was definitely not the only one!
Check out this YouTube video from the event showing a demonstration (you can even see me in it!):
So when I got the chance to check out a Lees rug in my own home, I jumped at it. My only dilemma was do I get it for by our high-traffic front door or in our family room where the kids play and sit. I choose the front door since that rug definitely is hard to find a durable one to last through all the people’s shoes coming in and out.
By the way, that is not dirt or stains below it is vacuum marks 🙂
So I will say I am afraid to spill anything purposely on it but so far with the abuse of our family and friends coming in, it is still looking new. I suppose the true test will be this winter when we have dirty boots on it! Lees carpets are backed by the exclusive “No exclusions” Ultra 25 Stain Warranty which covers stains other carpet warranties do not such as pet stains, grease, mustard, coffee, cola and more. Their warranties are amazing and I know because I have worked with other carpet retailers before only to find out the hard way something isn’t covered.
Lees carpets come in so many styles and colors that I warn you it is hard to choose, but once you decide it is hard to not be happy with the durability. I received the Ambassador style in color Canyon Ranch. It is a thin carpet with waffle-like squares. I would love to cover my whole basement in this eventually! Right now though I am loving the color and texture of the rug by my front door, which by the way did you know you could buy carpeting and have it bound into a rug the size of your choice for pretty reasonable prices? I had no clue! This is a great idea for when you can’t find the rug you want but found the carpet style! I should add too that yes Lees is pricier than traditional carpet when you put it in perspective the savings (and sanity) from stain removal and wear and tear, with Lees you’ll be better off in the long run. If you have young kids, pet, high traffic, or all of the above, Lees is definitely the answer!
