Innovia Automatic Paper Towel Dispenser Review

Paper towels are something that we use daily and has always been something to take up counter-top real estate in my house. While we use washcloths and cloth napkins for as much as we can, there are times that choose paper towels and they have always been an eyesore in my kitchen. As I said earlier, the paper towels take up valuable countertop space (or real-estate as I like to call it) and I have tried different ways to store them, but not until we installed the Innovia Automatic Paper Towel Dispenser I haven’t been happier. It’s funny how much a paper towel holder can make a difference!

Here is what I had before. It was a pain to change the roll, took up space and my kids would constantly pull it off the counter.

The Innovia Automatic Paper Towel Dispenser is unlike any other paper towel dispenser on the market. It comes equipped with a Smart Dispense sensor that enables it to learn the perforated length of each towel, thereby allowing it to accept nearly all household paper towels regardless of sheet size and thickness. If extra towels are dispensed, tear off what you need and the rest will be retracted automatically.

Benefits:

  • Reduces germs – paper towels are hosed in a dry and sanitary environment, reducing exposure to airborne contaminants and cross-contamination.
  • Easy hands-free operation
  • Accepts any standard paper towel roll
  • Sleep design and various colors available
  • Load new rolls quickly, no fiddiling installation.

My husband was able to install this in about 20 minutes while watching Sunday football! He used the included template and everything worked just fine for us. It does come with extra pieces to mount from depending on how your cabinets hang, but for us we didn’t need them.

Here is what my counter looks like now:

Look at all that space underneath!

Just toss in the roll:

Installing a paper towel roll is literally tossing in a roll and pulling some paper towel out. The light turns Red if there is a problem or if you are out of paper towels, otherwise, the design is sleek and modern. I love the stainless steel color (don’t worry it is also available in black, white and red) and that it hides the paper towels. So yes even if I but the cheap, ugly paper towels they are not an eyesore. Oh and it is amazing how open my counter looks with it being under the counter instead of on the counter. Using it is easy, and being hands-free is definitely a plus, especially when eating messy foods! No more getting barbecue sauce or grease on the whole roll or paper towel holder. I will say my kids were a little excited at first and thought it was a toy, waving their hands over it over and over. After a few days though the novelty wore off for them and it is just a basic paper towel holder now.

If you are worried that walking by will set this off, don’t be. You actually have to wave your arm about 2-3 inches from the sensor for it to work. While the unit is pricey, I think it is worth it. I think we will save money in the long run from wasting paper towels and less spreading of germs. Oh and it can be plugged in (which is what I chose for now) or you can add batteries. It is also a great conversation piece in your kitchen!

BUY IT: The Innovia Automatic Paper Towel Dispenser can be purchased on Amazon or direct through Innovia Home.

  • I have had the Innovia Towel Despenser now for appox. 3 years later it does not stop when a few towels are despensed it just keeps going until around 20 towels come out and I have to rewind the roll Anything that you know I can do with this problem. I have tried different towels same thing.

    • Strange! Have you cleaned the sensor good? Nothing blocking it? Unplug and re-plug after awhile?

  • This will make our frequent hand-washing much easier since we won't have to look for a dry towel each time.

  • Thanks for the giveaway... would help prevent knocking over our current countertop paper towel dispenser every time we reach for a sheet !

  • I was wondering if there was a paper towel dispenser that was sensor operated. There is....an Innovia! I have a sensor trash can and love it, because I don't have to touch it. Now there is a way to get a paper towel without having to touch. I would love to have one of these!
