I can still remember the day I got my first Nintendo. It was not long after it came out and my dad was trying to suck up and probably show off to my mom (my parents are divorced.) I played Mario daily and was automatically hooked on Mario and his friends. Ever since I have always owned a Nintendo system (including Super Nintendo and Wii) and I admit to regularly going back every now and then playing some Mario. I even used to pretend to be Princess Peach! Super Mario and friends are probably some of the most famous characters in the history of video games! It is pretty much impossible to not know who they are if you play video games. In a 1990 poll by Marketing Evaluations, Mario was even found to be more popular and recognizable amongst children than Mickey Mouse!
