So it was hard for me to believe that last weekend was Daylight Savings Time already. I mean I feel like we just turned the clocks ahead and now we are turning them back already, which to me means winter is here. By winter I think of snow, getting dark early and basically not going out!
Well November 4th not only was the day we got an extra hour of sleep, but it also marked the 25th anniversery of the annual Change Your Clock Change Your Battery program. Energizer and the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) once again worked with local fire departments nationwide to raise awareness on the importance of working smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors. These devices are a must-have to help families stay safe in their homes.
Did you know that 38% of fatal fire injuries occur in homes with no smoke alarms, while 24% occur in homes in which at least one smoke alarm is present but fails to operate, frequently due to dead or missing batteries (according to the Fire Analysis and Research Division of the National Fire Protection Association.)
Energizer wants everyone to stay safe and is asking that you make sure you change the batteries in both your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors. It is the easiest to do while you are going around and changing all your clocks and it makes it easy to remember! Changing a battery could really mean the difference between life or death.
For some extra safety tips and advice you can also print out some Fun Safety sheets for kids, an Escape Plan Grid and more through the Energizer Facebook page.
The Change Your Clock Change Your Battery program is just one of the ways Energizer brings to life the company’s commitment to making a positive impact in communities across the country.

I also want to comment on just how cool the flashlight and candle is from Energizer:
This Energizer flashlight has LED lights, can use different batteries, has a whistle alarm attached for emergencies and a safety checklist on it:
How cool is that – you can use 2 AA, 2 AAA OR 2 C batteries!
And finally the Energizer Flameless candle looks awesome:
