DVD Review: “Fireman Sam: Holiday Heroes”

Fireman Sam: Holiday Heroes

Released: October 9, 2012

Studio: LYONS / HIT ENT.

Running Time:  45 minutes

While I admit Fireman Sam is not one of my faovrites, it is my boys. For me their accents drive me crazy! The show though is wholesome for kids and it is the ony fireman show for kids! My boys love to watch Fireman Sam saving the day and driving his truck. There are five episodes on this DVD and my boys watch them over and over. There are snowman, polar bears and Christmas fun throughout this DVD, making it a perfect holiday DVD to get kids into the Christmas mood! While this DVD is winter-themed, it is one we will be watching it throughout the year. If your child likes Fireman Sam or firemen, this is a perfect DVD.

Episodes:

  • The Big Chill
  • The Pontypandy Polar Bear
  • Ice Cold in Pontypandy
  • Snowball of Doom
  • Floodlights

Bonus Features:

  • Fireman Sam’s Safety Show
  • Merry Christmas Everybody Music Video
It’s the holiday season and Fireman Sam’s adventures are heating up! Norman causes trouble baking more than holiday cookies; Sarah and James’ search for a polar bear turns into a snowy rescue! Trevor and his passengers find themselves on thin ice and Norman’s snowboarding antics leave Mike in a mountain of trouble; Sam shows his firefighting talent when Pontypandy’s holiday lighting competition goes haywire. With jingle bells and fire alarms, Fireman Sam is well prepared for the season’s best saves!

  • We have a few....some include Christmas Eve lights, we go driving around looking at lights before Santa comes. The kids each make an ornament every year. We decorate the 1st of December. ummm.....we do Elf on a Shelf, we (of course!) watch all the same Christmas movies every year (Charlie Brown, Rudolph, Frosty, National Lampoons, etc), and I wake the kids up around 4am after Santa comes and they open presents and play and then around 7ish we all go back to sleep for a few hours to sleep in. I have done the last one since I was little.

  • My 3 and 5 year old LOVE their Elf on the Shelf which we started when my oldest was 3 and now they are priming my 1 year old on how it works! I'm sure they will be great teachers for baby #4 due in January!
