I hate cooking but slowly I am trying to cook more to save for my family.  My problem with cooking though is having time to cook an actual good meal for my family while I have three kids running around me!  It seems like 4 o’clock comes around and my kids turn into monsters!  Holidays are especially hectic because my kids are home from school and I have a million things to do.
The book “Holiday Slow Cooker” is an awesome book because it contains 87 recipes featuring entrees, snacks, soups, desserts and even drinks!  I admit I never cooked with my mom growing up and have no idea how to cook Corned Beef, Leg of Lamb, Lobster Bisque or even half of these recipes from this book!  While they are not pictures for the recipes, which I prefer, the recipes are pretty simple and really ones that every cook should know.  I know my husband will appreciate that I now have a few more recipes to try out, especially during the holidays.  The recipes are not only ones for the holidays either but ones that I will be making for our everyday dinners such as Buffalo Chicken Wings, Easy Turkey Breast, Chicken Enchiladas, French Toast Casserole and Pork Loin with Wine Sauce.  Then there are some facts about each holiday on the first chapters of the book.  For dessert one of these nights I can’t wait to S’mores Fondue, yum!
This is a thin paperback that doesn’t take a lot of room but is filled with so many great recipes.  This would be perfect to keep on hand or to give as a gift, maybe to new homeowners.  I wish I would have got this book sooner, but I am happy to have it now.  I am all about simple recipes and these ones really do seem simple.
